Winter is back with a bit of a bite as Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Humboldt Watrous and the surrounding area. The warning forecasts 15 -20 centimetres expected for some areas.

In the wake of last week's Chinook-borne temperatures, a low pressure system is heading eastward, bringing plenty of precipitation. Prevailing north winds are driving snow across area highways and reducing visibility in open areas. Ground drift is laying down a snow pack over sheltered sections, making highway conditions variable throughout the region. Motorists will need to take a bit of extra time on the highways.

The snow is expected to taper off into the evening hours, although Tuesday may bring a couple more centimetres of the white stuff. Be sure to check the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline for the latest details in your area.
