As a quilter, I know just how much time, effort, skill, and love go into producing the finished product. I also know full-well that quilters are givers.

Evidence of that is seen in the countless quilts that have been arriving in Humboldt of late.

Haus of Stitches is the local quilt shop here, and owner Wendy Toye has selflessly transformed her business, in part,  into "comfort quilt central" in my eyes. Since the tragic April 6th bus crash, Toye and her team have welcomed countless quilt tops, batting, and supplies into the store; all sent in from the global quilting community.

Hours have been spent organizing the donations, and volunteers have been busily completing some of the unfinished quilts.

Toye estimates that she has received over 1000 quilts and the goal is to make sure every person who was directly affected by the tragedy receive a quilt.

The staff at 107.5 Bolt FM were kindly given a stack of the green and gold quilts this week. On behalf of my co-workers and I, I would like to extend a big thank you to the kindhearted quilters who made this possible.

We will be reminded of the kindness and caring that went into our quilts, and of course our "Bolt FM family members" Tyler Bieber and Brody Hinz, every time we snuggle underneath those quilts.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
