Alyxa Melsted from Wynyard recently participated in a Junior Junior golf event in Regina Saskatchewan.
Melsted is nine years old and has been playing golf since she was old enough to hold a golf club.
She plays out of the Wynyard golf club and first appeared in an out-of-town tournament last year in Waskesiu.
Melsted shared why she wanted to participate in the Regina Junior Junior event.
"I have been playing in many MJT tournaments this summer and this format was similar so I thought it would be a good experience."
She won in her age category, the 7-9 division, and received some prizes.
"I won a Golf Saskatchewan Visor and a gift card to the Royal Regina Pro Shop."
In closing, she had this to say to her fellow friends and people her age, "golf is really fun and I wish more junior girls would play."
