Albert Saretsky
March 27, 1925 - April 25, 2017

The passing of Albert  Saretsky occurred at his residence in Humboldt, SK on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.  He was 92 years of age.  Albert John Saretsky was born March 27, 1925 to Joseph and Anna (nee Froes) Saretsky at their home in the Burr District.  Albert went to Willow Ridge School in Burr and helped his dad on the farm. In 1946 he started his own farm and later purchased his dad's home quarter of land.   This farm had been in the family since 1904.  Albert attended St. Scholastica Church until 1984, and was a member of the parish choirs for a total of over 80 years, both at St. Scholastica and later at St. Augustine when he moved into Humboldt.  Albert married Catherine Thomas on June 16, 1973, and gained three stepchildren. Catherine passed away March 19, 1994. On June 8, 1996 Albert gained five more stepchildren when he married Beatrice Doyscher. Albert enjoyed farming, gardening, feeding the birds, playing cards and visiting.  In 1999 Albert and Beatrice went on a bus tour to all points west.  Then in 2000, Albert and Beatrice went on a Carribean Cruise, which they really enjoyed.  Albert enjoyed living in Humboldt, but also loved to drive out to the farm.  These past few years after Beatrice went into St. Mary's Villa, Albert would visit her every afternoon. Albert will be loving remembered and sadly missed by his wife of almost 21 years Beatrice (nee Stroeder) (Doyscher) Saretsky; his sister Anne Zlukosky; stepchildren: Carol and Ralph Becker, Theresa and Glenn Fortosky, Eric Doyscher, Brian and Joanne Doyscher, Keith and Sandra Doyscher, Melanie Thomas, Barb and Sonny Weinberger, Marge and Ron Bolt; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Albert was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna (nee Froes) Saretsky; nine siblings; and his first wife Catherine (Thomas) Saretsky.  A Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Greg Smith-Windsor.  Others taking part were:  Carmen Dressler, crossbearer; Amy Doyscher and Carmen Dressler, scripture readers; Ashley Bouchard, intentions; Lois Indzeoski and Donna Crook, memorial table attendants.  Music ministry was provided by director Loretta Schugmann with organist Dolores Hinz and members of St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir.  Honorary pallbearers were "All those who knew and loved Albert." Active pallbearers were Eric Doyscher, Brian Doyscher, Keith Doyscher, Glenn Fortosky, Glenn Zlukosky and Colton Inglehart.  Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt, SK.  Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Mary's Villa Foundation.
