Angeline Fleischhacker
May 18, 1924 – March 3, 2017


The death of Angeline (nee Ehalt) Fleischhacker occurred at her residence, St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK, on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was 92 years of age. Angeline was born on May 18, 1924 the eldest of nine children to Frank and Anna (Ebert) Ehalt in Annaheim. Angeline took her schooling in Annaheim, completing Grade 7, and then stayed home to help on the farm. She worked hard plowing in fields and hauling straw, stooking, threshing, and milking cows. On November 21, 1944, she married Emil Fleischhacker. To this union five children were born. Angeline led a busy life raising the children and working on the farm east of Pilger, one mile north of St. Bernard’s Church. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, baking, bowling and singing with the SloughGrass Singers. She will be lovingly missed by her four children, 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild: Daughter Colette (Julie) Rheaume of St. Brieux and family: Janine (Ken) Kessler and children, Matthew (friend Jemma), Todd, and Ashlin (fiancé Chris); Wade (Mary Lu) and children, Robin and Cole; Ian (Shelby) and children, Caili, Addison and Theodore; Ryan (Lori) and children, Maddison, Kennedy, and Chase; Daughter Judy (Garnet) Murray of Wadena and family: Dean (Tammy) and children, Rayshelle, Chloe, MacKenzie; Trent (Kristie) and children, Riley and Kailyn; Daughter Ruth (Willard†) Sarauer of Humboldt and family: Pamela (Thomas) Stadnyk and children, Jazmine, Carsen, Sayle, and Jersey; Clayton (Bonilyn) and children, Jalyn (Jordan) and Nikita, Jordyn, and Devlynn; Shane (Danielle) and children, Camryn and Gemma; Son Harvey (Cheryll) of Pilger and family: Catrina (Dan) Pudrycki and children, Taya, Tori, Damon and Shae; Shallon (Cordelle) Rempel and child, Nyah; and Troy (friend Jackie); sisters and brothers: Bernice Hueser, Ileana (Ken) Richardson, Erwin Ehalt, Lucille (Howard) Schiltz, Donald (Anita) Ehalt, and Marilyn (Leonard) Berschiminsky; and by sister-in-law Clara Ehalt. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Emil (2001); daughter Sharon (at 8 months old); her parents Frank and Anna Ehalt; step-father Mike Becker; son-in-law Willard Sarauer; brothers: Francis and Willard; and in-laws: Tony Hueser, Irene Ehalt and Ruth Ehalt. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB. Others taking part were: Wade Rheaume, crossbearer; Corinne Ramler and Grace Siermachesky, scripture readers; Janine Kessler, intentions; Pamela Stadnyk, Catrina Pudrycki, and Shallon Rempel, giftbearers; Lora Fraess and Linda Fraess, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by director Loretta Schugmann, organist Marie Aubin, and members of the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. The eulogy was delivered by Ian Rheaume. Honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Angeline’s life.” Active pallbearers were Ian Rheaume, Ryan Rheaume, Trent Murray, Dean Murray, Clayton Sarauer, Shane Sarauer and Troy Fleischhacker. Interment followed at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in the Pilger District. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Bernard’s Cemetery Fund, St. Mary’s Villa Foundation, or STARS.
