The death of Mrs. Catherine “Kay” (nee Grieman) Doepker of Saskatoon, SK, (and formerly of Annaheim, SK), occurred on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK.  She was 90 years of age, and the last surviving member of her family.  Catherine was born on September 5, 1925, to Michael and Marcella (nee Lang) Grieman at Fulda, and grew up on the family farm near Annaheim.  On October 10, 1944, Kay (as she was known to close family and friends) married Theodore “Ted” Doepker in St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Annaheim.  Seven children, four sons and three daughters, were born to them.  Kay was very fulfilled in her role as a homemaker, and was an excellent cook and baker.  Always a wonderful hostess,   Kay made all feel welcome with her warm and kind hospitality.  She was a member of the C.W.L., and an active participant in organizing community luncheons and events.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bingo, and quilting.  She absolutely loved her quilting group.  More than anything, Kay’s family was her priority.  She was always at her happiest with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around her.   Kay will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 71 years, Theodore Doepker; six children and 13 grandchildren:  (Kenneth+) Trude and children Jacquie, Jeff and their families; Kathleen (Charles) and children Erin and Hilary; Judith (Douglas) and children Sean, Leah and Amber and their families; Maurice (Karen); Ronald (Darcy) and children Taylor, April and Melanie; Douglas; and Ann (Fred) and children Bradley, Jordan and Kaitlin and their families.  She was predeceased by her son Kenneth; parents, Michael and Marcella (nee Lang) Grieman; and by all her siblings.  The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, Saskatoon, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Emile April.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Memorial donations may be directed to   either Ronald McDonald House or St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
