Clarence Wilfred Haeusler of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Lake Lenore, SK), passed away at Humboldt District Hospital on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was 90 years of age. Clarence was born to Martin and Josephine (nee Strueby) Haeusler on February 11, 1928, in Humboldt. On October 21, 1952, Clarence married Frances Korte. Clarence was an avid hunter throughout his life, played hockey in his younger years and enjoyed playing slow pitch in his later years, until into his 70s. He farmed for the greater part of his working life and also drove road grader for the RM of Lake Lenore. Clarence loved to tinker in his shop and spent many hours creating all sorts of things; he was especially passionate about odd and unusual bicycles, as he was very mechanically inclined. He built band saws, garden carts, flowers, lamps and decorations, as well as numerous homemade light displays for Christmas. He also enjoyed birdwatching and collecting rocks, which he would use to add to his creations. Clarence loved telling jokes and teasing, especially so to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2012 he suffered a stroke which led him to move from Lake Lenore to St Mary’s Villa in Humboldt.
