Dolores Kiefer
June 21, 1924 – October 27, 2017

Dolores Kiefer of Evergreen Country Home, LeRoy, SK, passed away at the Humboldt District Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2017. She was 93 years of age. Dolores was born to John and Caroline (nee Miller) Kuechle; eighth in a family of eleven children. She grew up on a farm near Mount Carmel and attended Carmel School for her formal education. In the 1940s, Dolores travelled to Trail, BC where she was employed at the Boeing Aircraft Plant, building airplanes and earning 75 cents per hour for her wage. On June 30, 1948, Dolores married Carl Kiefer at Carmel Church. They made their home on a farm near St. Gregor where they raised a family of nine; six sons and three daughters. Dolores’ life was filled with family and friends, gardening, sewing, knitting, church and always with a song in her heart or on her lips. She was an active member of the St. Gregor CWL for many years. In 1999 Dolores and Carl moved to Landmark Place in Humboldt where Dolores enjoyed visits with anyone who found their way to her door. She was always quick to pull out some baking to serve with coffee. When circumstances changed in 2011, Dolores moved to Evergreen Country Home in LeRoy, where she enjoyed playing cards and building puzzles, with the occasional break for ice cream at the local restaurant. On November 8, 2007 her husband Carl passed away, we know Dolores is once again by his side. Dolores will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her nine children and their families: Ralph (Linda) Kiefer of St. Gregor, SK and family, Tasha (Doyle) Thacker and children Dane and Kade, Matthew (Shalane) Thacker and children Michaela and Daxen; Carol (Leo) Menz of Humboldt, SK and family, Randy (Karen) Menz and children Brenna and Nathan, Cindy (Michael) Huff and children Owen and Abbey; Vern (Cathy) Kiefer of Edmonton, AB and family, Christopher (Serena) Kiefer and daughter Sophie, Adam (Andrea) Kiefer and children Elliot and Vivienne; Walter (Denise) Kiefer of Prince George, BC and family, Melissa Kiefer and Curtis Kiefer; Joan (Armand) Levesque of Edmonton, AB and family, Dean Wiegers and children Zane, Chase and Tyus, Tammy (Rob) Frank and children Boden and Neslin, Penny (Trung) Ly and children Jade and Allysa; Elaine (Brian) Mycock of Saskatoon, SK and family, Cheryl (Wade) Paschke and daughter Alida, Carla (Joe) Westfield; Michael (Monica) Kiefer of St. Gregor, SK and family, Matthew Kiefer and Mitchell Kiefer; Darren (Crissy) Kiefer of Prince Albert, SK and family, Theresa (Corie) Bishop and children Zeus and Oden, Nicole (Steven) Cook and children Ethen and Jackson, Wayne (Rachael) Bishop and children Nicholas, Haley and Isaac; John (Wanda) Kiefer of St. Gregor, SK and family, Drayton Kiefer and Danica Kiefer.
