Donald Breker
May 17, 1949 – February 12, 2016

It is with broken hearts that the family of Donald Breker of Saskatoon, SK, (and formerly of Humboldt, SK) announces his passing on Friday, February 12, 2016, at Rocky View General Hospital, Calgary, AB.  He was 66 years of age.  Donald was born on May 17, 1949 to Ferdinand and Agnes (Bernhard) Breker in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Humboldt, SK.  He was raised on the family farm in the Englefeld district and throughout the years continued to oversee the farming operation. On April 8th, 1972, he married Marilyn Scheper of Annaheim, SK. Together, on the family farm, they raised their two children, Todd and Trina. Donald was a very gentle, compassionate man, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.   “His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure.  He is loved beyond words and is missed beyond measure.”  Left to cherish Don’s memory are his wife of nearly 44 years, Marilyn (Scheper) Breker of Saskatoon, SK; their two children and five grandchildren:  Todd (Victoria) Breker and children Eden and Esme of Comox, BC; and Trina (Curtis) Timmerman and children Mackenzie, and twins Anika and Jacob of Saskatoon, SK; his mother, Agnes (Bernhard) Breker of Englefeld, SK; two sisters and four brothers:  Marie (Mel) Korte of Olds, AB, Jerome (Elizabeth) Breker of Battleford, SK, Clarence (Wendy) Breker of North Battleford, SK, Denis (Colleen) Breker of Toronto, ON, Richard (Jo-Anne) Breker of Douglas, ON, and Katherine (Peter)Winand of Englefeld, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his granddaughter Abigail Grace Breker (2005); his father Ferdinand Breker (1991); father-in-law Henry Scheper (1994); and mother-in-law Eleanore (Stumborg) Scheper (2013).  The Funeral Service was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah.  Others taking part were:  Dan Breker, cross bearer; Pat Timmerman and Dan Breker, scripture readers; Don’s grandchildren, intentions; Todd Breker, eulogist; Mackenzie Timmerman, urn bearer; and Lorne and Joan Molle, memorial table attendants.  Music ministry was provided by director Loretta Schugmann, organist Dolores Hinz, and the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir.  Honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Don’s life”.  Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be directed to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kinsmen Children’s Centre.
