Elsie Daelick

The death of Elsie Daelick, 97 years of Lanigan, occurred on January 25, 2017 at Central Parkland Lodge. Elsie was born May 15, 1919 to Edward and Bertha (nee Sesula) Geppert in Watson. As a child she attended Horton school until grade 11 then graduated grade 12 by correspondence. She went to Regina Normal School and obtained her teaching certificate and taught for 5 years. On October 27, 1947 she married Alfred Daelick, they moved to Alfred’s grandfather’s homestead near Esk. They remained on the farm until 1974 when they moved to Lanigan. Through the years Elsie always grew a huge garden, she loved to bake and go fishing with her family. Elsie also loved sewing; she made many bridesmaids dresses. Elsie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In February 2012 Elsie moved to Central Parkland Lodge and lived there until the present. Elsie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her four children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren: (Raymond’s family), Mary Daelick and family, Corinne Daelick, Barbara (Regan) Cooper and children, Emma and Ewen, all of Martinsville and Colette Daelick of Prince Albert; Janice (Jim) Froats of Raymore and family, Jeffery (Amanda) Froats and children, Trista, Lexi and Zane of Raymore and Darren (Fonda) Froats and children Mayla and Egan of Regina; Allan (Virginia) Daelick of Ituna and family, Christopher (Andrea) Daelick and Timothy (Brandy) Daelick, all of Warmen; Joyce Diener of Saskatoon and family, Carla (Ryan) Mahussier and children Taylor and Bailey of Tisdale and Terri (Chad) Sewell and children Ashlyn and Jaden of Saskatoon; and Joan (Gary) Froats of Armstrong, BC and family Angela (Travis) Haycroft and children Hailey and Evan and Curtis (Chantelle) Froats, all of Kelowna, BC; two sisters-in-law Georgina Geppert and Edna Daelick, both of Lanigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her parents Edward and Bertha Geppert; husband Alfred Daelick; son Raymond Daelick; son-in-law Ron Diener; two brothers Walter Geppert and Gordon Geppert; parents-in-law Anton and Carey Daelick; brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Mary (John) Paetsch, John Daelick, Lydia(Fred) Moir, Doris (Harold) Wildeman, Bill (Frieda) Abel, Werner Daelick and Ernest Daelick. The Funeral Service for Elsie was held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 2:00p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lanigan officiated by Pastor Ron Bestvater. Interment followed in the Esk Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to Lanigan Hospital Lodge Auxiliary.
