Harold Fraser
August 24, 1946 – September 30, 2017

The death of Mr. Harold Fraser, 71 years, of Humboldt occurred on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Humboldt District Hospital.  Harold was born on August 24, 1946 at Humboldt to Alistair and Alice (nee Magnes) Fraser.  He grew up on the family farm and attended Morven School and then HCI in Humboldt.  Following school, he worked at various jobs for the next few years.  On October 14, 1967, Harold married Edna Timmermann.  They lived in Regina, where he worked at the Co-op Refinery.  After a few years, they moved back to the farm and Harold began farming.  In the late 1970’s, he started Fraser Contracting, a business which he operated until recently.  In 1994, they moved in to Humboldt, although he continued to farm and operate his business.  In the past couple of years, he was slowly easing into retirement, but loving what he did made it hard for him to fully retire.  He enjoyed anything that involved the outdoors and spent many summer days at their cabin at Chitek Lake.  He liked fishing and snowmobiling with family as well.  Harold was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and in recent years could be found watching his grandchildren in their various activities.  Harold will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Edna Fraser of Humboldt; their three children and six grandchildren:  Kyle (Carmen) Fraser and children Dallin, Shae, and Landon of Humboldt; Andrea (Jason) Dunk and son Jayden of Saskatoon; and Allison (Ian) Kershaw and children Charlie and Max of Saskatoon; two sisters and one brother:  Cathy Fraser of Saskatoon; Douglas (Nancy) Fraser of Cobble Hill, BC; Myrna Chute of Revelstoke, BC; and brother-in-law Don Chute of Humboldt; members of Edna’s family:  Alfred (Joan) Timmermann, Ed (Pat) Timmermann, Sylvia (Bert) Thiemann, Ron Timmermann, Jack (Judy) Timmermann, Linda (Larry) Angeli, Pat Szautner, and Judy (Ken) Thiemann; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Alistair and Alice Fraser; step-mother Nora Willets; parents-in-law John and Mary Timmermann; and members of Edna’s family: Rita and Vern Work and Russell Szautner.  The Funeral Service for Harold was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Michael Yaremko.  Interment followed in the St. Augustine Columbarium, Humboldt.  Memorial Donations in Harold’s memory may be made to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation, General Equipment Fund.
