Helen Stadnyk
May 19, 1932 – April 12, 2017

The peaceful death of Mrs. Helen Stadnyk (nee Siermachesky), 84 years of Humboldt occurred on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Humboldt District Hospital.  Helen was born on May 19, 1932 to Fred and Anne (nee Zajac) Siermachesky on the farm in the Carmel District.  She grew up there and attended Mount Carmel School.  Helen met Roman Stadnyk and they were married on July 27, 1949.  They were blessed with three children, Linda, Goldie and Murray.  Together they made their home and ran a mixed farm in the Dixon area.  Helen enjoyed entertaining, gardening, cooking and baking.  She made the best do-nuts.  Roman passed away in 1986 and Helen remained on the farm until 1990 when she moved into Humboldt, where she lived in her home until her passing.  Helen always took pride in having a nice home and a beautiful yard, both on the farm and then later in town.  Helen will be lovingly remembered by one son Murray (Donna) Stadnyk and daughter Laura of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren: Theodosia Natasha (Aaron) Phillips and son Bennet of Saskatoon; Greg (Daphne) Panio and children Gabrielle, Olivia, Alexis and Vanessa of Regina; and Curtis Panio (girlfriend, Nicole) of Regina; brother Mike (Antonia) Siermachesky of Humboldt; son-in-law Jim Steadman of Indian Head; brothers-and-sisters-in-law:  Pauline Halowski, Sr. Yvonne “Jean” Stadnyk, Steve (Lillian) Stadnyk, Elsie (Joe) Diakow, Dr. Irwin (Barb) Stadnyk, Don Hurst,  Julian Warawa and Helen Stadnyk; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Helen was predeceased by her husband Roman Stadnyk (1986); two daughters, Linda Stadnyk (2016) and Goldie Steadman (2017); parents Fred and Anne Siermachesky; parents-in-law Fred and Alice Stadnyk; sister Mary (Tony) Indzeoski; brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Mike (Arlene) Stadnyk, Anne (John) Zmud, John (Victoria) Stadnyk, Peter Stadnyk, Harry Stadnyk, Francis (Stan) Hachkowksi, Marian Hurst, Lawrence Halowski and Sally Warawa.  The Funeral Mass for Helen was offered on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Mykola Romanets.  Interment followed in the All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
