Marion Felix
February 19, 1946 – May 1, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Felix, 70 years of Bruno, announce her passing on May 1, 2016. Marion was born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Humboldt, SK, on February 19, 1946 to Anton and Maria (nee Steffens) Felix. She grew up on the family farm, located south east of Bruno, SK and attended Cranich Lake School, obtaining her Grade 8 education. She then proceeded to pursue a career in hair dressing until health issues prevented her from completing the course. Marion had a love for art, especially painting and drawing, but appreciated all forms of art. Marion always had a fun, competitive spirit playing softball as a youngster and never backing down from a game of Smear, Kaiser, or Chess. Marion often grew a garden, and enjoyed snacking on fresh vegetables. She also picked berries and canned them. Marion went to church on a regular basis, until her health became too big of an obstacle to overcome, but this didn’t stop her from 40+ years of service to the Catholic Women’s League. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four brothers and their families: Edwin Felix of Bruno; Leo (Linda) Felix of Ft. St. John, BC and their children Gary, Carmen, Kathy, Mark, and Misty; Alois Felix of Bruno; Bernard (Sheila) Felix of Lumsden and their children Sarah, Paul and Joseph; and Viola’s family: Leo Schulte of Bruno and their children Bernard, Ann Marie, Mary Lou and Andrew; and by many great nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her parents Anton and Maria Felix, two brothers and three sisters: Fr. Al Felix, Anna (Sebastian) Zimmer, Viola Schulte, Alvin Felix, and MaryAnn Felix.  The Prayer Service for Marion was held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.  Both services were held at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno officiated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB.  Interment followed in the St. Bruno Parish Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Bruno Friendship Center or St. Bruno Cemetery Fund.
