Martin Joseph Dauk
November 19, 1916 – May 23, 2018

Martin Joseph Dauk of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, SK, (and formerly of Annaheim, SK), passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was 101 years of age. Martin was born on November 19, 1916, to Arnold and Frances (nee Hofmann) Dauk in Humboldt, SK. He was raised on the family farm in the Annaheim district and attended Laurier School in Annaheim. On October 7, 1941, Martin married Catherine Hagerty in St. Ann’s Church, Annaheim. Six sons were born to them; however their first-born son died in infancy. Martin enjoyed and was satisfied with his life which centered around his family, farm, church, and community. He lived in Annaheim from his birth until September 2011, when he moved into assisted living at Birch Manor, Bethany Pioneer Village, in Middle Lake, SK. Shortly after his 100th birthday, a final move was made to Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson, where he peacefully died. Martin will be lovingly remembered by four children, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren: PETER (Valerie) Dauk and family, Vanessa Dauk and children, Danielle (Ben), Nicole, Kalie and Joel, Sheri-Ann (Jason) Praski and children, Anna and Brennan, and James (Joanna) Dauk and children, Evalina and Isabella; JEROME (Coleen) Dauk and family, Laurie Dauk (Mike Bowden) and children, Maya and Ping, Melanie Dauk, Beth Dauk (Earl Paul), and Ross Dauk; MURRAY (Ruby) Dauk; daughter-in-law, LINDA Dauk and family, Robert (Erin) Dauk and children Matthew and Sybil, Jennifer (Michael) Jaspar and children, Katherine, Charlotte and Madeline, Kevin (Janna) Dauk, and Sarah (Thomas) McKay and children, Daniel and Hannah; and GERALD (Yunet) Dauk; two sisters-in-law: Helen Dauk and Ann Doepker; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Catherine (nee Hagerty) Dauk; two sons: James Dauk (in infancy), and Ralph Dauk; daughter-in-law, Patricia Henry-Dauk; parents, Arnold and Frances (nee Hofmann) Dauk; three sisters: Josephine (Jack) Junk, Hortense Dauk, and Caroline Dauk; four brothers: Carl Dauk, Arnold (Marie) Dauk, Richard Dauk, and Jerome Dauk; and by his brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Walter (Clara) Hagerty, Thomas (Marie) Hagerty, and Sr. Mary Hagerty. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Annaheim, on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Anthony Atter. Others taking part were: Beth Dauk, crossbearer; Sheri Praski and Melanie Dauk, scripture readers; Sarah McKay, intentions; Katherine Jaspar, Evalina Dauk, Maya Bowden, Anna Praski, and Danielle Rakochy, giftbearers. Music ministry was provided by Michael and Jennifer Jaspar, Sarah and Thomas McKay, Kevin and Janna Dauk, and Joanna Dauk. Pallbearers were James Dauk, Robert Dauk, Kevin Dauk, Ross Dauk, Vanessa Dauk, and Laurie Dauk. Interment followed at St. Ann’s R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either the St. Ann’s Parish Building Fund, Annaheim, SK, or Birch Manor, Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK.
