Monica Schatz
July 29, 1930 – December 11, 2015

Monica Schatz (nee Kilcher), at the age of 85, died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 11th, 2015 in Humboldt, SK.  Monica was born on July 29th, 1930 in Daylesford, SK to Art & Emily Kilcher. Monica married Johnnie, the love of her life at the age of 21 on September 10th 1951, and they spent 64 blessed years together. It did not take long for them to start a family. Monica took great joy in sewing, knitting and baking for her family and did this up until the time of her death. She made numerous quilts and afghans for all of her children, relatives, and friends. Monica is survived by her loving husband, Johnnie; 6 children and 15 grandchildren: Deb (Roger) Haryett, Carter, Leisl (Kal) Lefebvre, Laurie (Deric) Cook, David (Angie) Ross, Fern (Ian) Currie, Daron Dumanski, Dan Dumanski, Matthew Currie, Ryan Currie, Courtney Peters (Mike), Terry (Debbie) Schatz, Sara (Dax), Tanner, Stacie (Jan), Dean (Debbie) Schatz, Megan (Jay), Jenna (Zac), Tammy (Brett) Wilson, Matthew and Emily; ten great grandchildren; her sisters Gwen (Bernie) Saret, and Faye (Rick) Wesling. Monica was predeceased by her parents Emily & Art Kilcher, siblings: Bea, Mark, Ag, Red, and great grandson, Jeffery.  Monica’s family would like to thank the Humboldt District Hospital Staff for the compassionate care provided to her. The Funeral Mass for Monica was held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Cosmas Epifano, OSB.  Memorial donations in memory of Monica may be made to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt (306-682-1622)
