Nina Schidlowsky
February 21, 1995 - April 19,2017

It is with broken hearts the family announces the passing of Nina Danielle Schidlowsky 22 years, of Saskatoon formerly of Humboldt on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Royal University Hospital Saskatoon surrounded by her loving family. Nina was born on February 21, 1995 in Saskatoon to Reginald and Beatrice (nee Paul) Schidlowsky. Jordan became a big brother and protector over his little sister. As a baby Nina had a winning smile which in turn made everyone smile back at her. Nina’s caring loving personality was present as a little child. She could be found always ready and willing to help someone out. Nina obtained all of her education in Humboldt. She loved to learn and was a straight “A” student and graduated grade 12 with Honour’s of Distinction. She loved to dance and was very involved with dancing and piano. Nina being the youngest thoroughly admired her big brother and loved him with all of her heart. As Jordan and Nina grew up he was very proud of how smart and beautiful she was and in turn admired her greatly. Nina would be there to listen to him; in Jordan’s eyes she was the most level headed person who was mature beyond her years. She was a very strong emotional woman who continued to look out for Jordan. She loved nature especially sunrises and sunsets. She captured many beautiful photos of nature with her love of photography. Nina’s favourite colors were green and blue as they represented nature. Nina also was a gifted writer and could put wonderful stories together. She loved food and cooking. Nina was always searching for new recipes to try out from Pintrest, she was very well known for her Roast Beef meal that everyone loved. Nina had a sense of humour like no other and always made someone laugh on a daily basis through out her short life. Hope Sommer commented that Nina was a light to her classroom, “Everyday that girl could make me laugh like no other.” At the early age of seven Nina could strike up a conversation with anybody about anything. She had a wealth of information “fluff” and just knew a lot about everything, this trait was the asset needed for the perfect Trivial Pursuit partner! After her completion of grade 12, Nina entered into the College of Engineering on a scholarship. She made life long friends but decided that her life’s purpose needed to be a passion and changed her mind to become a nurse which would have been a perfect fit. Even though Nina never became a mother she was a natural mother to her two fur babies Layla and Scooter. She was a very kind and loving person who liked to help people. A very humble person, Nina wasn’t “self centered” but “others centered”. She lived her life by this quote: “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer” by Albert Camus. Nina will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her parents Reg and Bea Schidlowsky of Humboldt; brother Jordan Schidlowsky (Mataya Dixon) both of Red Deer, AB: Uncles and aunts: Roger (Irene) Paul of Shaunavon, Armand (Betty) Paul of Broadview, Emile (Val) Paul of Winnipeg, MB, Virgil (Fran) Paul of Beauval, Doris (Amedee) Beaubien of Meadow Lake, Alphonse (Carol) Paul of Marshall, Harvey (Denise) Paul of Meadow Lake, Don (Donna) McCrimmon of Meadow Lake, Julien (Jeannette) Paul of Lloydminster, Audrey (Lorne) Willson of Humboldt and Lloyd (Alina) Schidlowsky of Calgary, AB; and by numerous cousins and friends. Nina was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Delphis and Denise Paul; paternal grandparents Roman and Mary Schidlowsky; Uncle Reneé Paul and her Godmother, Aunt Suzanne McCrimmon. A Prayer Service was held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. presided by Jenny Irwin. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by, Fr. Joseph Salihu. Both services were held from St. Augustine R.C. Church Humboldt. Cremation followed with an interment at a later date. Memorial donations in Nina’s memory may be directed to the Nina Schidlowsky Family Trust (for future use of scholarships in Nina’s memory).
