Raymond Michael Aschenbrenner

September 22, 1931 – February 13, 2019

Raymond Michael Aschenbrenner of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Fulda, SK), passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. He was 87 years of age. Raymond was born to Albert and Philomena (nee Jaeb) Aschenbrenner on September 22, 1931, in Humboldt. He grew up in the Fulda district and attended St. Matthew School. After completing Grade 7, Raymond helped his Dad with the farm work. In 1957, he married Emma Graf. They were blessed with one daughter and one son. Together, Raymond and Emma worked alongside each other on a mixed farm operation. Raymond was always active in the church and with community affairs. His other interests included fishing, curling, golfing, doing search-a-word puzzles, and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays on television. In the fall of 2003, Raymond and Emma moved to Humboldt. Raymond derived much joy from his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In September 2016, he became a resident of St. Mary’s Villa. Raymond will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Emma (nee Graf) Aschenbrenner; their two children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Colleen (Dale) Hemm and son Jesse (Kim); and Brian (Charlene) Aschenbrenner and family, Ahlona and son Raiden, and Kelci and daughter Savannah; one brother Arnold (Sally) Aschenbrenner; one sister, Armella (Ken) Kemper; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by a grandson, Kyle; his parents, Albert and Philomena (nee Jaeb) Aschenbrenner; one brother, Norman Aschenbrenner; and by one sister, Viola Aschenbrenner. A Private Graveside Funeral Service will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fulda, at a later date.
