Shirley Biehn
May 14, 1964 - December 28, 2015

Shirley Biehn (nee Wehner), 51 years, of Humboldt, passed away in her home with family by her side on Monday, December 28, 2015 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.  Shirley was born on May 14, 1964 in Watson to Art and Beryl (nee Painter) Wehner.   When Shirley was twelve years old she met, unknowingly, her future husband, Doug Biehn of Naicam which began a 38 year journey together. On April 10, 1982, Shirley married Doug and they made their home in Naicam, Saskatoon, than finally settling in Humboldt back in 1993.  They were blessed with three children, Jason, Eric and Alina.  Shirley always had business acumen and in 1991 joined Doug as the business manager of their financial services firm and did so until she fell ill. Shirley was always so proud of what Doug and her had achieved together both personally, building their home in Humboldt, and professionally.  Shirley was not all work though, she also loved cooking and gardening, both of which she excelled at.  She also enjoyed interior design and decorating their homes and offices.  Shirley’s priority was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She mostly enjoyed her times at the cabin during the summers on the water and winters on her sled. These things vastly outweighed her frustration with Doug stoking the wood stove so much you could mistake the interior for the tropics. Shirley will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 33 years, Doug Biehn of Humboldt; their three children and two grandchildren:  Jason (Grace) Biehn and sons Evan and Beckett of Saskatoon; Eric Biehn of Saskatoon; and Alina Biehn (Tim Leishman) of Jaffray, BC; two brothers and one sister:  David (Cheryl) Wehner of Pitt Meadows, BC, Audrey (Michael) Fitzpatrick of Lloydminster, SK and Cyril (Patti) Wehner of Watson, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, Art and Beryl Wehner.  The Funeral Service for Shirley was held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster United Church, Humboldt, SK, officiated by Rev. Brenda Curtis.  Interment followed in the Humboldt Public Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Shirley’s memory may be directed to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
