Tom Bruce
July 4, 1944 – April 11, 2017

The family of Tom Bruce wish to announce his passing on April 11, 2017, at the age of 72. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 49 years Gail; their daughter Jacqueline (Dean), son Grant (Nicole), daughter Cara, and the two precious little ones Gabrielle and Isabelle. He is also survived by brothers Bill (Rose), Arch (Pat), brother-in-law Bud Cazes, sister-in-law Effie (Ben) Broderick, brother-in-law Arthur (Donna) Raymer, and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents Andy and Alice Bruce, sisters Mary, Peg, and Jean, brother-in-law Vivian Travers, and parents-in-law Lloyd and Hazel Raymer. Tom was born in Melfort. He attended school in Brooksby, Willow Valley, Melfort, Teachers College, and the U of S. Most of his teaching career was at Hudson Bay and Quill Lake. Work was something that interrupted baseball, curling, and hunting. Tom retired in 1998 after 30 years of teaching. Tom and Gail continued to live in Quill Lake until his death. The Funeral Service for Tom was held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley United Church, Quill Lake, officiated by Rev. Brenda Curtis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Telemiracle, the Quill Lake Fire Department, or Quill Lake Minor Sports.
