Warren Roger Hoffman
November 19, 1931 – February 25, 2019

Warren Hoffman of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK passed away at his residence on Monday, February 25, 2019. He was 87 years of age. Warren was born on November 19, 1931, to Andrew and Alma (nee Duke) Hoffman, at home on their farm on the south shore of Stoney (Humboldt) Lake. He was raised there and attended Deer Lake School at Bay Trail, then Humboldt Collegiate Institute for his high school education. Warren married Evelyn Tataryn on September 27, 1958, in Humboldt. Warren started working at Land Titles in Humboldt shortly after completing high school and moved his way up to registrar on Land Titles, the position he was in when he retired in 1987 after 38 years there. He was involved in several community activities such as coaching hockey and baseball when Phil was playing, active in the Carlton Trail Ski Club as an executive member and on the committee securing title to land for ski trails as well as St John’s Lutheran Church. He and Evelyn spent many years enjoying life at their cabin at Anglin Lake where they devoted much time to surveying the loon population. He enjoyed getting out with his camera and was for many years an avid rock hound, family trips for several years were to rock collecting shows and digs at various locations. Some of his finds were turned into jewelry. He and Evelyn enjoyed some travelling around North America. Warren is survived by his son, Phil Hoffman (Cheryl Van Blaricom) of Whitehorse, YT; two grandchildren: Shea and Bryn; one brother, Grant (Elizabeth) Hoffman of Humboldt; and by numerous nephews and nieces. Warren was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (nee Tataryn) Hoffman; parents, Andrew and Alma (nee Duke) Hoffman; and by one brother, Stan Hoffman. A Funeral Service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Clint Magnus. Others taking part were: Grant Hoffman and Susan Tataryn, scripture readers; Shea Hoffman and Bryn Hoffman, urnbearers; Phil Hoffman, eulogist. Honorary pallbearers were “All those who shared in Warren’s life.” Interment followed at Humboldt Public Cemetery.
