Rural Grade 1 to Grade 12 Basketball players got the chance to play in 21 Annual hometown Hoops Basketball Camp in Lake Lenore.

70 kids were mentored by some of the best basketball coaches in the area of Lake Lenore and in Saskatchewan as well.

Valerie Weseen, the camp administrator listed off the benefits of the camp for children and young adults.

"They gain confidence when they get skills, and it flows into other aspects of their young lives, you know they feel good if they reach the hoop and learn to dribble and pass and shoot."

The Weseen family has been running the camp for generations now said the camp administrator.

" My oldest daughter started the camp in 1995 I believe, then she went to university and my husband and I kept it going, he passed away two years ago, so we're trying to honor his legacy and keep it going."

The School Gymnasium is named after Valerie's Husband, Wade Weseen.
