The AA Humboldt Broncos will begin a stretch of eight home games in the month of December Saturday night.

This comes after a run of just two home games in their first 11 contests but as Head Coach Chris Hamilton says, their third place standing is a great spot to be in.

"We've got nine of our 14 road games for the year done, not playing at home is a tough battle but two months into the season we're sitting in I think a really good spot right now."

The Broncos are 8-2-1, their 17 points sits behind the Saskatoon Screaming Eagles by a point, although they have played three more games than Humboldt.

The North East Midgets are at the top, they are undefeated with a record of 10-0-1. They will be in Humboldt Saturday night for a 8:15 face-off as they meet for the first time.

Hamilton says they are looking forward to the test, including trying to beat their former goaltender Ben Gilbertson.

"It's a battle of the top two teams in the league. Ben played for us last year, he is a really good goalie in the league, here's hoping we can get a couple goals and find a way to win Saturday night."

Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock they welcome the Midwest Red Wings.
