The Annaheim Rebels claimed the 1A Senior Boys Volleyball Provincial title Saturday.

Annaheim came back from 23-17 deficit in the second set over the Goodsoil Vikings.

Head Coach Blair Wourms talked about how it feels to have won the gold medal.

"It was pretty unbelievable, it was one thing to win it but to do it in front of a home crowd and all the work that you do throughout the year you build for that last tournament and to be able to pull it off in the end it was quite something, I couldn't be more proud of those guys."

The team was able to focus on one point at a time which was key for the gold medal game and throughout the entire weekend.

It was a phenomenal end to a high school volleyball for the grade 12's on the squad said Wourms, "they were very key for us, they played big minutes and they've been around the game of volleyball for so long and it was good to see those guys play their last game at home and win the championship and you wish them all the best and I've told them before they were a very big of this team."

Wourms added that the team was extra determined after they lost in the final last year to claim silver.

The Colonsay Colts competed in the Bronze medal game but fell to Pierceland in two sets.
