The Bantam AA Broncos lost their first game of the playoffs in overtime last night to the Saskatoon Outlaws

The first game of the opening round series between the 5th place Broncos and the 4th seed Outlaws took place on Tuesday, March 5th at the Rod Hamm Memorial Arena in Saskatoon. 

The Broncos found themselves down 3-0 to the Outlaws after the second period.

In the third, the Broncos fought back. Goals from Matthew Porter, Ryland Martin, & Castor Berezuik. brought them to a 4-3 deficit. With the Humboldt net empty and the extra attacker on the ice, Ty Sundholm tied the game at fou apiece with 16 seconds remaining on the clock to send the game into overtime.

The overtime period was back and forth, but the Outlaws would provide the winning goal for a final score of 5-4. Brody Mortensen and Matthew Porter each had two points, while Trey Kincade made 30 saves in net for the Broncos.

The Outlaws will travel to Humboldt on Friday, March 8th to play game two of this playoff series at EPA. It a must-win game for the Broncos in the best-of-three series, puck drop is at 7:15 pm.
