Austin Berezowski scored with 6:33 remaining, as the Bantam AA Broncos slipped past Prince Albert 5-4 on Wednesday night.

The win moves Humboldt within one point of second place, currently held down by Prince Albert and West Central.

It was Prince Albert who came out firing in the first period, recording 20 shots on goal and scoring the first goal five minutes into the game.

Luke Stadnyk would reply with the first of two goals on his night to even the game 1-1 through 20 minutes.

Stadnyk scored his second straight goal on the power play to open the second period.

Just 35 seconds later, Tyler Lindal gave the home team a 3-1 lead, with the Pirates drawing back within a goal midway through the period.

Humboldt got an early goal in the third period again, as Kylynn Olafson found the back of the net to restore a two goal edge.

The Pirates, however, would come charging back with a pair of goal in 53 seconds to tie the game before Berezowski's winner in the final minutes.

Brody Ackland stopped 28 shots in earning the win for the Broncos, who along with closing in on second, have moved within five points of first place.

Four games remain in the regular season, with Humboldt visiting West Central for another showdown of top teams on Saturday.

They host Yorkton on Sunday before closing out the season on February 7 and 10, hosting North East and visiting Martensville.
