The Bantam AA Humboldt Broncos extended their unbeaten streak to seven games after a pair of wins at home.

On Saturday, the Broncos welcomed Battlefords for an afternoon contest.

After getting down 2-0 in the first period, Humboldt outscored the Barons 9-2 over the final 47 minutes of the game to take a 9-4 decision.

Connor McGrath had a hat trick and five total points in the game, while Luke Stadnyk had a pair of goals, as well as four assists for six points.

Austin Berezowski, Easton Ediger, Noah Barlage and Nolan Allan had the other tallies for Humboldt.

Ashton Dagenais made 16 saves to pick up the win.

Melville came to Humboldt on Sunday, with sparks flying in the first period. 

Seven goals were scored in the first period, including a late powerplay goal with 12 seconds left to give the Broncos a 4-3 lead through the first period.

The Millionaires took the lead on back to back powerplay goals early in the second period before the Broncos tied it back up at 5-5.

In the third period, it was the Broncos pulling away, scoring three goals, limiting Melville to just one, as they skated to an 8-6 win.

McGrath had two more goals in the win, as did Ediger and Allan. Stadnyk and Dawson Barlage had one goal each.

Brody Ackland started the game, earning his sixth win of the season.

The Broncos are now 11-3-2 through 16 games and will play two more contests prior to the Christmas break.

They host the Saskatoon Maniacs on Wednesday, and then visit Battlefords on Saturday.
