When Humboldt product Logan Barlage joined the Western Hockey League's Swift Current Broncos after his AAA midget season ended he wasn't sure how long he'd be gone, well his stay in the southwest Saskatewan city will be extended.

The fourth overall pick in last summer's WHL Bantam draft is seeing limited ice with the team but he was able to join them in an upset over Moose Jaw 3-2 Monday night on the road in game seven of their East Division quarter-final series.

Along with former Humboldt Broncos General Manager/Head Coach Ryan Smith, Swift Current advanced past the first round for the first time in nine seasons. this is Smith's second year behind the WHL bronocs' bench.

Their series versus Regina starts in the Queen City on Thursday night.
