The Broncos are simply star struck when it comes to hitting the ice against North Battleford.

Friday night at the Elgar Petersen Arena the North Stars scored twice in 1:29 in the first period lifting them to their 11th straight victory over the Humboldt.

One thing the Broncos have done versus the Battlefords is get leads, they have achieved that in three of their four head to head games but it never seems to last. Brayden Camrud snapped his second goal of the year past Joel Gryzbowski at 12:12 while on the power-play. Chris Van Os-Shaw and Connor Swystun added the assists.

They had the lead for 1:18, the contest was only tied for 89 more seconds before the Stars were up 2-1.

Brayden Klimosko motioned to that on the post-game show.

"It didn't last to long and that's too bad, I thought we started off really strong."

The Broncos' Assistant Coach also pointed to a couple misreads in their own zone during the 90 second turnaround.

"They were minor plays to begin with and they created something out of nothing that should have never been there. It's just eliminating that man in the corner most of the time or getting that guy in front of the net. We've got to be more desperate when we have numbers down low."

Ryan Rosenberg and Ben Allen beat Garrett Mason in the first.

Humboldt then got into penalty trouble in the second, something that has plagued them all season long. They took four in the second period but Mason kept them in it, the shots were 15-1 in the middle frame.

"When you keep taking penalties you just keep wearing down and when you are killing penalties you can't going to score any goals," Klimosko spewed. "That's kind of the issue there, it was frustrating at times tonight."

Overall Mason made 42/45 in the loss. Humboldt managed just 15 shots on Gryzbowski.

Coming into the meeting the Stars power-play was a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League best, they only generated a goal on seven chances, Cody Spagrud sealed it with seven to play while on the man advantage. The Broncos also scored on two less opportunities.

Humboldt will visit the Melfort Mustangs on Saturday night at the Northern Lights Palace.

Klimosko warned that they need to be prepared for a tough task.

"You could be first, they could be last, it don't matter when we're playing Melfort. It's going to be a good game, I know we better be ready, I hope we come in there a little ticked off and be ready to play 60 minutes, we're going to need to."

Face-off is 7:30, the pre-game show on 107.5 Bolt Fm begins at 7:15.

Melfort got their weekend off to a great start with a 6-1 win over Melville, Estevan edged Notre Dame 2-1, Yorkton nipped LaRonge 3-2, Weyburn shaded Kindersley 3-2 and Flin Flon cruised to a 4-1 win over Nipawin.
