A local junior curling team was the last foursome standing in Saskatoon on Sunday.

Jayden Bindig and his team out of the Wadena Curling Club won the Under-17 Saskatoon Junior Classic with a 5-2 win over Alec Remai.

The team has a connection to Humboldt as well, with Braden Fleischhacker playing second.

After going 3-1 in the round robin, it was an 8-5 win in the semifinal that gave them a spot in the final game.

In the Under-21 women's bonspiel, Chaelynn Kitz of Saskatoon won the tournament. Pleasantdale's Rikki Schick plays third for the rink.

The Karla Friesen rink, representing Wadena, was also competing in the U21 event.
