Parker Tobin stopped all 24 shots faced for his first career SJHL shutout, as the Humboldt Broncos blanked Estevan 2-0 on Tuesday night.

It was the first time this season that the high-powered Bruins offence was stopped in its tracks, scoring no goals.

Head Coach Darcy Haugan says that it wasn't a great start for his team, but they were able to turn it on late in the first period, which resulted in the game's first goal.

On the power play, Nick Shumlanski cut up high and sent a pass on the backside for Conner Lukan to tap in his 13th goal of the season.

The Broncos would score a pair of goals within 2:32 of game time, as early in the second period, Jacob Leicht scored his fourth goal of the year on a similar play.

Graysen Cameron set-up the Humboldt product after throwing a pass right on his stick, allowing Leicht to deposit the puck at the side of the net.

A pair of scary situations occurred for the Broncos in the game.

In the second period, Tobin caught a puck up high in his mask, resulting in him going down to the ice. After a few minutes and an inspection by trainer Dayna Brons, he was able to remain in the game.

Later, Cameron took a puck to the face that bounced off the side of his helmet in the vicinity of the visor. He did not return to the game, and Haugan didn't have an immediate update on his condition following the game.

Cameron missed time earlier in the season due to a concussion, so Haugan said that they will be taking every step possible to ensure that he is completely healthy before returning to play.

Tuesday's meeting was the first of two between the Broncos and Bruins this week. Estevan returns to Humboldt on Saturday night.

Prior to that, the Broncos head to Wilcox on Friday for a 7:30pm faceoff against the Notre Dame Hounds.
