It's starting to get that playoff feel when the Broncos hit the ice and they're a team that's trending in the right direction.

The Broncos secured their 8th straight victory on February 12th over the Flin Flon Bombers, the longest winning streak of the season for the green and yellow.

Brayden Camrud and the Broncos struck first just over two minutes into the game, on the power play, assisted by Michael Clarke and Drew Warkentine to give Humboldt the 1-0 lead. That was Camrud's 16th powerplay goal, which is first in the SJHL, along with his 25th goal on the year to tie him with Micheal Clarke for the team lead. Camrud has been on a tear recently, picking up nine points in his last four games. With the secondary assist, Warkentine extended his point streak to six games which also includes nine points.

The Flin Flon Bombers are first in the league in goals scored, and they showed why scoring the next two goals, including the go-ahead marker with 13 seconds left in the frame to take a 2-1 lead.

In the second, Zach McIntrye, fresh of his Rookie of the Week nod, tipped the puck into the attacking zone where it was scooped up by Reagan Poncelet. Poncelet then found a wide open Mitch Zambon in the slot who made a nifty move before tucking it between the wickets of Bomber goalie Jacob Delorme.

The intensity picked up in the third, as you'd expect with teams vying for position and just over a handful of games remaining in the regular season.

The Broncos didn't waste any time in the third period as Logan Foster picked the corner on an unexpecting Delorme to restore the Broncos' lead and the eventual game-winner. Foster's 13th on the year was assisted by Camrud and Bryson Cecconi.

Rayce Ramsay got the start in net and was a brick wall down the stretch. He stopped 25 of 27 in the 3-2 victory and has now won six consecutive starts and eight of his last nine.

The Broncos still sit two points out of first place in the Ag Risk division and will head out on road for back to back games against the La Ronge Ice Wolves on February 15th and 16th.
