The Broncos offense was firing on all cylinders again Wednesday night as they lit up Yorkton's goaltending to the tune of 7-2 in front of 308 highly entertained fans.

Daniel McKitrick led the charge scoring twice while setting up two more.

He said after the game that they are pleased with their perfect start through three games but they aren't content either.

"It feels great, we're a hungry team though. We're not satisfied with 3-0, we're going to come out on Friday, we want to sweep the weekend."

Chris Van Os-Shaw also scored his second and third goals of the young season, Trevor Posch also added his third to go with an assist. Laramie Kostelansky and Dante Raposo chipped in with their first goals of the year.

Humboldt has scored a league high 17 goals in three games.

Logan Schatz picked up three assists on the night as well.

McKitrick says the success of the Schatz-Posch-Van Os-Shaw trio is helping his line of Michael Korol and Matthieu Gomercic help out on the sheet.

"Yeah for sure, when they are out there with the top defense it opens space for us to get some more opportunities and we're luckily finding the back of the net."

Rookie of the week, Antonio DiPaolo picked up two assists off the blue line, Connor Swystun was credited with a helper as well as Gomercic and Xavier Labelle.

The game wasn't always in the bag for the Broncos, penalties became a problem again for the Broncos, they took five straight in the second period allowing Yorkton to close the game to 3-2.

Head Coach Darcy Haugan called a time-out early in the third which turned the tide immensely.

"He was just saying calm down boys," McKitrick explained. "We've got the game, five-on-five we were all over them so just calm down. Kostelansky scored a big goal and gave the boys a boost then the flood gates opened after that."

The Broncos did win the special team battle anyways, Yorkton was 1/9 on the power-play, the Broncos were 2/7 with the advantage.

Garrett Mason collected his third straight victory in net, he stopped 29/31.

The Broncos got five past starter Greg Maggio on 28 shots, Andrew Suriano allowed two on eight in relief.

Humboldt will now host Nipawin Friday night at the Elgar Petersen Arena. 7:30 is face-off.

In the other two Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League games Wednesday North Battleford rebounded from a loss Tuesday with a 4-1 win over the Melville Millionaires, Notre Dame snuck past Weyburn 2-1.
