The Humboldt Broncos finished off the season with two losses to the division-leading Battlefords North Stars Friday and Saturday.

The first game of the series between the Broncos and the North Stars on Friday ended in a shootout.

The first period was scoreless, with Brayden Camrud and Logan Boulet each getting penalties sixteen and eighteen minutes into the period respectively.

The second period saw Camrud earn the only goal for the Broncos, with assists from Kaleb Dahlgren and Logan Schatz. Goalie Jacob Wassermann made 28 saves on 29 shots.

The first overtime period remained scoreless and neither team had any penalties. The final shootout brought the final score of Friday's game to 2-1 for the North Stars.

The Broncos hosted the North Stars for game two, Saturday. The Broncos trailed 2-1 after the first period with Bryce Fiske scoring the lone goal. The North Stars proved to be too much after that, scoring four more unanswered goals.

It was a chippy one-sided affair with the Broncos being outshot 41-16.

Fiske, Nick Shumlanski, Mitchell Girolami, Boston Maxwell, Stephen Wack and Logan Boulet were assessed minor penalties in the third. Goalie Parker Tobin made 35 saves on 41 shots.

The final score was 6-1 for the Battlefords North Stars.

The Humboldt Broncos last game of the season is Tuesday, March 6th when they take on the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox before heading to Melfort to start their run for the Canalta Cup.
