It's no April fool's joke, Friday is the deadline for the early bird draws in the Humboldt Broncos Lottery of Cash.

You can get your tickets for the 22nd annual fundraiser by calling 1-844-569-2016 or visit the office in the Humboldt Mall.

This year over $132,000 in prizes is up for grabs, and for only $65 a ticket it's one of the least expensive lotteries in the province.

"It is one of the cheaper chances at $100,000 that we have here," President Jamie Brockman said on the weekend. "One ticket for $65 or three for $150 and we've got our 50/50 add on again."

The deadline is 5pm on April 1st, the early bird draws which include a draw for $10,000, two draws for $2,500 and five more of $1,000 plus 10 more for free lottery tickets. Those will be made on Saturday.

The deadline for tickets overall is April 29th at 5pm. The next day will feature the rest of the draws including the 50/50 and grand prize.

Brockman talked about how key this fundraising initiative is.

"50 percent of our budget is fundraising and this being a big portion of it. Last year we netted just over $60,000, we kind of set a target this year that we shoot for that $80,000-$85,000. We did stop the bleeding of it coming down last year with our new ticket prizing and we're hoping that continues this year."

Only 11,000 tickets will be sold.
