The Broncos Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Showcase schedule ended on day two in Warman with a gritty 5-4 shoot-out win versus Estevan.

The way the game got there is simply another bright spot on a team looking to leave two sub-par years in the dust.

Clinging to a one goal lead late, Estevan pulled their netminder for the extra attacker in which allowed Kaelan Holt to tuck his second goal past Carter Seminuk with just 17 seconds left to force overtime.

Humboldt lost 17 games last year by one goal, many in heart breaking fashion in the dying moments.

They eventually killed off a minor penalty in the overtime period, as did Estevan but it was Seminuk stopping two of three Bruins' snipers in the shoot-out to seal the extra point and split their Warman experience with a 5-4 victory.

Michael Korol has been through the majority of those losses in his first two years.

"I think that showed a lot about our character this year, like you said last year that bit us a few times. I'm just happy to see that things have changed and we're winning those one goal games for sure."

Korol had put the Broncos up 4-3 early in the third with his second of the year, he also added an assist.

Trevor Posch scored his fourth and fifth goals, Daniel McKitrick also potted his fifth of the young campaign.

Korol added that is what a great feeling for them to pick up after their captain, and top centreman Logan Schatz was lost to an injury on Sunday versus the Millionaires.

"Logan is obviously a huge part of our hockey team and he plays a big role but I'm glad we could come together and pull that one off, it's a big win for sure."

Posch and Chris Van Os-Shaw scored on Kurtis Chapman in the shoot-out, McKitrick didn't convert. Holt was the lone Bruin to score of their three shooters.

Seminuk stopped 33/37 in the win, his second this year without a loss. Chapman was on the hook for four goals on 28 Humboldt chances.

This is the first time the Broncos were out shot so far this season, just one more reason they have started 5-1.

The Bruins had the number one power-play team coming in, that showed as they were 2/6, Humboldt scored once on five chances.

Next up is the back-to-back champion Mustangs at the Northern Lights Palace on Friday night.

Korol says they will enjoy the day Tuesday before it's back to work.

"We need a day here to rest and recover, come Friday we will be ready to go in Melfort."

Rounding out day two of the Showcase was Melville doubling the Battlefords 4-2, Yorkton kept Nipawin winless with a 3-1 win and the Weyburn Red Wings become the first to down Flin Flon in regulation 4-3.
