The Broncos used four different goal scorers with their 20 year-old hometown leader putting the dagger in the Yorkton Terriers en route to a 4-3 win in doing so they snapped their eight game losing streak Friday night.

The Terriers did get the early lead in the first period, Lanigan product Shane Sherban jumped on loose puck at the side of the Humboldt net after some miscommunication by the Broncos' and their new goaltender, Ryan LaRochelle.

Humboldt would settle down and so would their netminder. Connor Swystun snapped a shot through Jakob Severson at the 9:52 mark tying the game at 1-1. Swystun's fourth of the year came on the power play from Logan Schatz.

The Broncos would open a two goal cushion in the second as they dominated the visitors. Josh Roberts scored his second on a penalty shot followed by Trevor Posch slapping his ninth of the season past Severson.

The Broncos would take a 3-1 lead into the final period.

The Terriers didn't go away, Carson Welke brought them back to within one before Jarrett Fontaine completed a picture perfect two-on-one rush with Posch giving the Broncos the insurance they would need.

Paul Savage drew the Terriers close again but a number of key blocked shots in the dying seconds by Fontaine was enough to seal Humboldt's eighth victory of the season.

"Oh it's awesome," Swystun said of the win after the game. 'We've been battling long and hard to finally get this win and when we get it's just surreal, words can't describe how awesome it is."

Larochelle was acquired earlier in the week from the Winkler Flyers, he stopped 27/30 shots in the win.

Swystun was complimentary of their puck stopper and his role in the victory.

"It's awesome when you have a good goaltender like Ryan, it's just great, it's awesome, I don't know, I am just excited about the win."

Severson made 19 stops on 23 shots.

The Terriers were 2/6 on the power play, Humboldt was 1/2 plus getting the penalty shot goal.

Humboldt will now prepare for the second meeting of the season again st the Weyburn Red Wings Sunday at 6pm at the Elgar Petersen Arena.

"We just need to come out strong just like we did in the first couple periods and be all over them, Swystun concluded. "I think that's where we got our success, getting it in deep and cycling."
