The Broncos suffered their first loss of the pre-season Friday night 6-3 in Melfort.

Humboldt's goal scorers were Daniel McKitrick, Kobe Scott and Luke Kempf, the netminding was split between Devin Allen and Dylan Gluck.

Despite the loss Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko said they got what they needed out of the contest.

"That's why you play these games in the exhibition season is to see what some of your players have," he said on the post-game show. "We definietely saw some good things and we saw some bad things, it was good."

Klimosko said they actually had a chance to take over after three straight goals to start the second.

"We probably had a chance to bury them in the second period there, we don't bury those chances and they score some late. We didn't give up many opportunities to score but every time we do they put it in the back of the net."

Reigning SJHL defenseman of the year Eric Sinclair took over with a hat trick to lead Melfort, Miles Warketine added two, Evan Simpson was the other Mustang goal scorer.

Evan Plotnik went the distance stopping 24/27.

Humboldt was 1/7 on the power-play, Melfort was 3/7.

The Broncos host Melfort Saturday, the office will be open at six o'clock with season tickets available for purchase and pick-up.
