The Bruno Merchants won both games of a doubleheader against Canada's national midget team on Wednesday.

In the first game, the Merchants pulled ahead in the bottom of 6th inning to take a 4-3 lead which they held through the 7th.

The winning pitcher was Justin Dauvin and Andrew Kutnekov hit a two-run home run.

The Merchants then rode a four-run first inning to a 7-3 win in Game 2.

Pitcher Brian Newton picked up the win and Brent Twordik hit a two-run shot.

Merchants coach Ray Bender said it was exciting to have the national team come to play in Bruno.
