For five weeks, Humboldt's Paige Crozon was a leader for Canada's Women's Development basketball team.

Crozon and her teammates wrapped up their summer in Taiwan, participating in the World University Games.

In their final game, Canada defeated Czech Republic 84-68 to finish in seventh place.

Crozon had an excellent tournament overall, and finished the six games strong, posting 20 points with eight rebounds and four assists in the final game.

"I thought it was a great team win for us and a great finish to the summer. The team showed a tremendous amount of improvement and development over the course of the five weeks or so we were together, and I'm really proud of my teammates. I'm excited for what the future has to hold for each and everyone one of them." - Paige Crozon, following Canada's 84-68 win.

Crozon has typically found herself at the top of the board for three point shooting, and she was once again there in Taiwan, finishing in the top ten shooters for percentage.

Throughout the tournament, the HCI grad averaged 14 points per game, five rebounds and two assists.

The Canadians opened the tournament with wins over Portugal and Korea, wrapping up the round robin with a loss to Japan.

In the playoff rounds, they were edged out by Chinese Taipei and the United States, before bouncing back against the Czechs.

For her efforts, Canada Basketball named Crozon as Women's Player of the Week for August 16-22.

Crozon now gets set for the next chapter of her career. She will head to Germany to begin her professional career with the Saarlouis Royals.
