The Fishing Lake Cubs picked up their first win of the young season in the Richardson Pioneer Fastball League on Wednesday night.

The Cubs hosted the Wadena Wildcats, picking up a 21-2 win.

Corbett Sabit picked up the win for Fishing Lake, with Hal Machiskinic and Barry Belanger hitting home runs for the Cubs.

Fishing Lake's next game comes Friday in Foam Lake, while the Wildcats are back in action Tuesday, hosting Foam Lake.


The Bruno Bisons started their season in the Saskatoon Men's Baseball League on Wednesday night, falling 11-0 to the Rhinos.

In Wynyard, the Midget Humboldt Dodgers earned a road win, defeating Wynyard 11-4.

The Bantam AA Dodgers were back in Saskatoon taking part in the AA league. They lost 8-5 to the Blue Jays.

In the North Central Baseball League, Peewee Division, Lanigan downed Humboldt 2 21-4. It was Watrous over Wynyard 23-1 and Foam Lake downed Wadena Orange 19-8.

Humboldt's Midget/Bantam Softball team earned a 13-5 win over Watrous in the North Central Softball League. Also in the division, Middle Lake outscored Wadena 13-8.
