It was a busy weekend for the Humboldt Curling Club, as they hosted the BV Inn Classic, with 19 teams from across the Province attending.

The final also featured a local Curler, as Dustin Kahltoff throws the third stones for the Jason Jacobson rink out of Saskatoon.

The Final was a great back and forth game between two of the best teams in the Province, with a trip to the Tankard potentially in store for the winner.

The Brad Heidt rink opened the scoring in the first end with a draw for a single point.

Jacobson answered back with a pair of points in the 2nd end, making it a 2-1 game.

In the third, the Heidt team was in trouble all end, but the skipper put an in turn draw onto the four-foot to get a single point and tie the game.

That draw seemed to turn the tide for the Heidt rink, as they stole 3 points in the next 2 ends of play, making it a 5-2 contest.

Just when things were looking grim, Jacobson scores a pair in the 6th, bringing the game within a point.

Then Jacobson stole a single in the 7th, tying the game going home, but Heidt still with the hammer.

And the Brier veteran and two-time Tankard winner from Kerrobert made good with the hammer, drawing for the win with his final stone, just sticking around to sit shot stone, and take home the $2,500 cheque.

With the win, the Heidt rink now has enough points on the Curl Sask tour to qualify for the Tankard, which will be held in Tisdale in early February.

It was a great weekend of Curling, and hopefully it can be even better for next time the tour stops at the HCC.
