The Humboldt Broncos have acquired a veteran forward.

Saskatoon born Kaleb Dahlgren will join the club after two plus seasons in Notre Dame.

The 20 year-old is ecstatic to be a part of the green and gold.

"Oh yeah, I'm very proud and glad to be a Humboldt Bronco, this is a great opportunity."

Dahlgren has dressed in 108 regular season games compiling 15 goals and 18 assists, he's also got 16 playoff games including a trip to the finals three seasons ago on his resume.

He feels he can lean on his experience to help the team improve on their post season success.

"Humboldt lost some key pieces with (Trevor)Posch, (Michael)Korol and (Luke)Kempf up front, I feel I can fill part of those roles and come and be a leader having two years in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and playoff experience in the finals against Melfort."

Being closer to home is also a nice touch for Dahlgren.

"It's awesome, my parents like to come to every game so they will be able to come to every game for sure. We get to be around the community for stuff, it's always a short trip home if I need anything or if I have a doctors appointment so that's great to have in the back of your mind too."

A player development fee was sent to Notre Dame in the deal.

You can hear much more from Dahlgren below who spoke with Bolt FM's Clark Stork Thursday afternoon.
