Craig Martinka and Damon Vanderlinde pitched well, as the Midget AA Humboldt Dodgers remained unbeaten on the year, sweeping the visiting Regina Blue Jays.

The Dodgers' bats exploded out of the gate in the first game, putting five runs on the board.

Morgan Gobeil got the offence rolling on a ground out that scored Vanderlinde from third. Daigon Elmy, Martinka, Carter Burkart and Brett Muyres all drove in runs to give the home side a 5-0 lead.

Burkart, who was three for three at the plate, knocked in his second run in the bottom of the third, giving the Dodgers a 6-0 lead.

Elmy and Tyson Earis would add RBI's, as the Dodgers took Game 1 by a 8-3 margin.

Martinka pitched five shutout innings before allowing a run in the sixth. He struck out ten batters to record his first win of the year.

In the second game, it was much of the same for Humboldt.

The Dodgers scored in every inning, as they powered past the Blue Jays 15-0.

Tanner Gerwing drove in four runs, including a bases clearing double in the top of the fifth. Gobeil and Vanderlinde had a pair of RBI, with Burkart, Martinka and Kalen Senecal knocking in other runs.

Vanderlinde struck out eight batters, including a run of five straight, to earn his third win of the year.

With a record of 12-0-2, the Dodgers are sitting in first place in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.

Humboldt will host the Weyburn Beavers on Saturday for a doubleheader.
