It was a highly emotional night inside the Centennial Arena in Delisle Tuesday night, as the Prairie Junior Hockey League resumed the championship series after postponing games since Friday.

Game 4 saw the Regina Capitals defeat the Delisle Chiefs 7-2 and now lead the Best-of-7 series 3 games to 1. But the result of the game was far from the minds of anyone in attendance.

The game marked the first time back on the ice for two members of the Humboldt Broncos, Blake Berschiminisky and Reagan Poncelet, since the bus accident.

Both Blake (20 games) and Reagan (21 games) were associate players (AP's) with the Broncos this past season and when they weren't playing with the Chiefs, they would be practicing and traveling with the team.

Both players were on their way to Delisle for Game 4 last Friday when news broke about the crash. The Chiefs and Capitals canceled the game that night and it was postponed until Tuesday.

A moment of silence in honour of the Humboldt Broncos was held to start the game. Then the starting lineup featured Poncelet and Berschiminsky joined by Humboldt-born teammates Tyler Leier and Josh Roberts.

Following the game, Chiefs Head Coach Eric Ditto spoke on the emotional night and the atmosphere in the rink.

"We didn't know what the outcome of the game was going to be, but after the final buzzer seeing everybody in the stands staying until the very end was all that we could ask for," expressed Ditto, with his voice crackling with emotion.

"I'm so proud of our guys....it was tough."

Ditto added that while the team was really motivated to get the win for their teammates, it was far from the most important thing during the night.

"It was an emotional game and I know our guys aren't happy that we lost and they feel that we needed to win," said Ditto. "But in the end, the biggest win was that both teams were out, and they were out on the ice together supporting the Humboldt Broncos."

Game 5 of the PJHL championship is Thursday in Regina.
