The Broncos were looking for their third straight win and second in a row on the road Friday night in Melville but the green and gold fell flat on their faces in the opening 3:17 and they could never catch up as the Mils cashed in a 6-3 win.

Teal Sobkowicz scored just 38 seconds in on a power-play, Aaron Aragon scored a mere two minutes after that, Dayton Heino also beat Garrett Mason ending the 20 year-old's night, he allowed three on four shots.

Carter Seminuk allowed another in the first from Damien Bentz as the Millionaires took a 4-0 lead into the first intermission.

"That first period was awful, it was disgusting to watch," Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko scowled on the post game show. "If you aren't ready to play you aren't going to win many hockey games, especially on a Friday night in their rink. They're are amped up to play, they are going to see us in the standings, they're going to be ready to go and we weren't tonight."

Things settled down in the second, the Broncos responded well in the middle frame getting goals from Josh Roberts, his second was assisted by Dawson Atamanchuk. Trevor Posch slapped his 12th past Brandon Wells on a late power-play in the middle frame to cut the lead in half going to the third from Stephan Wack.

However; Melville would get the next crucial goal, Keegan Milligan made it 5-2 with just under seven minutes to play in the final period.

The Broncos did cling to life after Chris Van Os-Shaw potted his league leading 13th goal but an empty net short-handed marker from Aragon with just under two to play did the Broncos in as they never could recover from the dozy opening minutes. Luke Kempf and Atamanchuk picked up the helpers on Van Os-Shaw's late marker.

"You aren't ready for the first five minutes and you're down 3-0, well good luck getting back in," Klimosko continued. "You can grind it out all you want for the rest of the 55 but it's still going to be tough for you to win that hockey game at the end of the day."

Seminuk made 32 saves in relief and did suffer the loss, Wells stopped 36/39 in his second win over the Broncos of the year, Melville beat the green and gold at the showcase in Warman on September 25th.

Humboldt finished 2/7 with the man advantage, the Mils first minute goal was their lone tally in half a dozen chances.

The Broncos will regroup and travel to Melfort on Saturday night for their third meeting of six with the Mustangs.

"We better be ready," Klimosko foreshadowed. "It's going to be a fun night in Melfort. I think we're prepared for a bounce back game, we're going to need 60 minutes form all those guys."

Face-off is 7:30, the pre-game show on your radio will start at 7:15.

Elsewhere in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Friday the Battlefords Stars closed to within a point of the Broncos for the Finning division lead with an 8-2 rout of the Yorkton Terriers. Estevan edged LaRonge 5-4, Flin Flon fired 69 shots on goal in a 4-2 win over the Weyburn Red Wings and Notre Dame slipped past Kindersley 4-3 in overtime.
