The Hounds and horses raced to the finished line during the 8th installment of the dog and pony show for another overtime Broncos win.

The Humboldt Broncos and Notre Dame Hounds met for the 8th time out of 10 meetings on the season on January 25th inside the Duncan Mcneill Arena in Wilcox, SK

The Broncos held the edge in the season series four games to three over the Hounds and were looking for their third straight victory to trot into second place in the Ag Risk Division.

In the first period, Notre Dame's Cole Golden jumped on the game's opening goal six minutes into the game. Five minutes later Michael Clarke showed incredible patience to dance around two Hound's defenders as well as Notre Dame goalie Riley Kohonick to tie the game at one apiece. Clarke's 23rd of the year was assisted by Owen Guenter and Drew Wakentine and the back and forth affair had begun.

In the second frame, The Broncos secured their first lead with a Drew Warkentine powerplay goal, assisted by Owen Guenter and Josh Patrician. Once again, back and forth, as Notre Dame's Captain Jared Hamm would add a powerplay goal of his own to tie the game at two. Once again, the teams would head into the dressing room the same way as the game started, and the same way the first period finished, all knotted up.

It was more of the same in the third. Notre Dame this time would pick up the 3-2 goal courtesy of Golden's second of the game just over a minute into the final frame. The Broncos answered back with six minutes remaining in the game. Drew Warkentine, located in his office on the powerplay, wired a one-timer past Kohonick to tie the game at three for his second of the game and 18th on the year, Michael Clarke and Josh Patrician provided the assists. Broncos' goaltender Dane Dow needed to make some key saves down the final stretch and was able to do so to provide a thrilling end for Broncos fans as the game would enter overtime.

Throughout the season, the Broncos have come out victorious 9 out of prior 12 times needing either overtime of a shootout. This time Brayden Camrud was able to stretch that figure to double digits when he poked home a centring pass from Owen Guenter through the legs of Kohonick and spurred the Broncos to a 4-3overtime victory.

Dane Dow Stopped 26 of 29 in net for the Broncos. Riley Kohonick turned away 39 of 43 in the loss.

With the victory the Broncs find themselves tied with the Kindersley Klippers for first place in the Ag Risk Division.

Broncos' fans won't have to wait long for the 9th installment of the dog and pony show. The Hounds and horses will meet the next day on January 26th inside the EPA for the second half on another home and hoe set.
