The Humboldt Broncos have stolen game one on the road over the Estevan Bruins in their opening series matchup.

The Bruins and Bryce Platt struck first in the opening period to give the home team the 1-0 lead.

The Broncos wouldn’t find the equalizer until 25 seconds left in the second frame, when Josh Patrician fired a puck low passed Bruins goalie Grant Boldt assisted by Michael Clarke. The teams would head into the second intermission tied at 1.

In the third, it was all Broncos, Broncos, Broncos with three more tallies. Bryson Cecconi scored the go-ahead goal assisted by Brayden Camrud. Reid Arnold provided the insurance marker, short handed, assisted once again by Brayden Camrud and Drew Warkentine sealed the deal with an empty net goal as the Broncos skated away with a 4-1 victory.

Rayce Ramsay was spectacular throughout, stopping 29 of 30 shots faced including a handful of highlight reel saves.

The Broncos will look to go up 2-0 in the series tomorrow before heading back home to Humboldt.
