A tough loss stops the winning streak at 7 for the Humboldt Broncos as they lose in a shootout to the Weyburn Red Wings.

The Broncos opened the scoring once again in the first period. Drew Warkentine scored his 5th as a Bronco on the power play assisted by Logan Foster and Mark Edmands.

They would double the lead in the second. Michael Clarke put on a show with a toe drag around the defenseman, before cutting back to the net and sliding the puck in between the legs of Weyburn goaltender Riley Lamb.

The Red Wings would come alive before the second period was over with their own powerplay goal by Tyran Brown.

In the third, the only goal was a Weyburn one off the stick of Sean Olson with only 6 minutes remaining to tie the game at two.

Overtime would solve nothing and in the shootout, Riley Lamb stopped all three while Sean Olson would score to lift the Red Wings over the Broncos 3-2.

The three-game road set will conclude tomorrow as the Broncos will travel to Yorkton to face off against the Terriers.
