In what turned out to be his final month of hockey in his junior career, Humboldt's Reid Gardiner has been recognized.

Gardiner was named the WHL's Player of the Month for April.

The 21-year-old registered 25 points in 12 games for the Kelowna Rockets, who advanced to the Western Conference Final before falling in six games to the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Gardiner's point totals included 13 goals and 12 assists and eight multi-point games.
