The Humboldt Hammerheads put a wrap on their 2017 season on Sunday.

Holding their year-end awards banquet, several swimmers were recognized for an outstanding summer in the pool.

"Every year we hand out awards to our athletes for their achievements and attitudes throughout the year," noted Coach Leisl Lefebvre. "Realistically, each and every swimmer could get an award, whether for their achievements in competition or their attitude and effort at practice. It's never easy to decide who should receive awards."

The Hammerheads' season concluded August 5-6 in Watrous at the provincial meet, where they placed second overall as a team.

Awards handed out at the banquet included:

  • Hi Point Male (male swimmer with the most points) - Jay Eichorst
  • Hi Point Female (female swimmer with the most points) - Charlize Parish
  • Top Novice (first year competitive swimmer with the most points) - Cohen Gasper
